We provide 18 bed adult chemical dependency units. Open 24

Diagnostic Imaging Services
We offer a wide range of imaging services to all customer
including outside physician's clinics such as ultrasound,
CT, mammography, routine x-rays, and nuclear medicine. Certain
exams require preparation. Contact department for specific
instructions relative to each examination.

Emergency Department
Services are available 24 hours daily, 7 days a week. The
department is staffed by licensed physicians and registered
nurses. The staff is available to provide a full range of
medical care for patients of all ages with all types of medical
conditions, minor illness, and injury to life threatening
emergencies

Laboratory
Our fully accredited laboratory provides a vast array of testing
services. for your convenience most laboratory testing is
done promptly without an appointment. Any laboratory tests
requiring an appointment may be scheduled by calling 773-356-5396.

Medical Detoxification Service
South Shore Hospital's detox services is an inpatient emergency
medical detoxification program for adults (18 years and older)
with an opiate (heroin) addiction. We provide a medically
supervised hospital stay for inpatient detoxification which
usually last for one to three days.

Pharmacy
Our pharmacy provide medication-related care for the purpose
of achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality
of life. The pharmacy ensures that medications are used safely,
effectively, and efficiently for optimal patient outcomes
and cost containment.
Scope of Care: The scope of pharmaceutical
care provided by the pharmacy is designed to meet the needs
of the patients, physicians, nurses, and all other members
of the Heathcare team.
Skill level: The skill level of
personnel in the Pharmacy meets standards designed to provide
safe, competent, and accurate care as defined under the scope
of care. Pharmacists and technicians must be licensed in accordance
with regulations of the Illinois Department of Professional
Regulation.

Pharmaceutical services are provided 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.

PreAdmission Testing Department
The Pre-Admission Testing Department schedules patients for
Pre-Operative testing after the surgical case has been scheduled
with the surgery department. All patients will be called to
schedule an appointment for Pre-Operative tasks by the Pre-Admission
Testing nurse.

Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Respiratory Care Department
Provide assistance in cardio-pulmonary evalutaion of patient,
treatment of cardio-pulmonary diseases by improving ventilation,
decreasing work of breathing and administration of oxygen.

24 hours, 7 days a week
Pulmonary function for outpatients are scheduled only on Wednesdays
and Fridays, between 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Senior Complete Care Center
The Senior Complete Care Center (SCCC) is for people who are
55 years of age or older. The center is a "one stop"
resource-a combination of health screening center, treatment
center, referral service, and health education center. We
offer an inter-disciplinary approach to patient care provided
by specialists in geriatric medicine, nursing, social work
and nutrition. A physician referral service is available for
senior seeking a physician or specialist.
To use the center, you can call ahead for a health care appointment
or for assistance with insurance forms.

The Wellness Center - HIV/AIDS
Services include primary health care, confidential HIV/AIDS
